The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD to Include New Difficulty Mode

Posted 7/31/13 10:01am EST

The HD remake of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker could come with a lower price tag and a higher difficulty mode with Amazon listing it at $49.99 and advertising "a more challenging difficulty level." That would set Wind Waker HD at $10 lower than the typcial price of Wii U games.

An increased difficulty level seems realistic though as this isn't a simple port by the way Nintendo have talked, claiming to have added multiple new additions. Already they have shown off the new tingle bottles, acting as a sort of replacement to the tingle tuner. It allows players to send and recieve messages in a bottle across various islands through Miiverse. They've also shown touch controls for the Wind Waker item, off tv play, enhanced hd graphics, faster sailing and gamepad inventory and map management. The increased difficulty could act as a sort of Master Quest in the way it did for Ocarina of Time 3D, the 3DS remake of the N64 classic. The full description taken from amazon.com is listed below.

"The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker makes its glorious return on the Wii U console with gorgeous HD graphics and enhanced game features. In this timeless classic with a unique and colorful art style, you will guide Link as he sets out on the massive Great Sea to find his kidnapped sister. Sail the seas in search of lost islands, fight fearsome enemies, take on mighty bosses, and seek out the legendary Triforce.

In this definitive version on the Wii U console, you can experience the game in gorgeous 1080p graphics, manage your inventory and view maps on the Wii U GamePad controller, and even choose to take on a more challenging difficulty level. With the new Tingle Bottle feature, you can connect with others over Miiverse*—comments or screenshots posted on Miiverse can wash up on the shores or in other locations of other players' games. And if the TV is already in use, you don’t have to worry—you can play the game right on the Wii U GamePad.
